Hello Monday:
How do you view Mondays – with pessimism or optimism?
I used to associate Mondays with feelings of dread.
After all, they were filled with days of tasks to accomplish, obligations to fulfill, and the endless reminders of unfinished tasks from the previous week.
However, I have since shifted my perspective about Mondays.
I now approach my to-do lists and obligations with a positive mindset, focusing on the tasks I have completed and celebrating my accomplishments. Looking at Monday as a new beginning, a fresh start.
This change in perspective transformed my “to-do” list into a “ta-da” list.
We need to remind ourselves that we do not need to be highly productive every day.
We do not need to have everything under control,
to be everything to everybody every day.
In fact, taking a mental break is not only acceptable. It’s essential.
The next time you feel exhausted and unable to move forward, take a few minutes, an afternoon, or the rest of the day, whatever you need, to recharge.
Take time to clear your mind, light a candle, take a walk, declutter your desk, or enjoy your favorite beverage while sitting in the sunshine.
Celebrate your fabulous self every day, even on Monday.
Ta-da!!
