we’re different, be kind

One thing I know for sure is people are different.

And that’s okay.

We don’t all have to like the same stuff.

That’s why:

There are different genres of music and movies, etc.

Maybe what I like in a decorating style you don’t ..that’s ok.

Maybe my job might not be for you, but I can’t wait to go to work every day…that’s ok.

Some people like fresh flowers, some don’t…that’s okay.

Some people like live music, some don’t.

That’s okay.

Some women like the nerds, others the bad boys.

That’s okay.

You see where I’m going?

The point is,

No matter which side you’re on, there’s always going to be an opposing one.

It happens every time there is a change.

It doesn’t mean one is right, the other wrong – despite what you think or believe.

It just means it’s different than yours.

But it’s okay.

Really it is.

You can’t control what someone else thinks,

believes or feels.

So, stop causing yourself undue stress.

It’s our right to be authentically who we are, believe what we believe,

enjoy what we enjoy and love how we love.

and there is no requirement for anyone to join us.

Besides, when we disagree publicly and spew our hate or disgruntled venom – that is a form of bullying.

Posting derogatory statements about someone’s opinions, viewpoints or beliefs simply because you don’t like them and they don’t line up with yours, well, that doesn’t make the world a better place and it sure says a lot about you.

Just love and accept people. Not because they agree with you or are like you,

not because of what they can do in return

but because of who YOU are.

Please- think before you post.

Refrain from the judgement.

Ask yourself:

Is it thoughtful, helpful, inspiring?

Is what you want to post REALLY necessary?

Scroll on. Go for a run.

Pray.

Do what you can

to be the change you want to see.

Change what you can.

But, above all, please be kind.
